THESES is a series of short-term academic schools and workshops at IIT Kharagpur that introduce participants to emerging and frontier areas of science, engineering, and related disciplines.

Eligibility

  • Faculty members of IIT Kharagpur may submit proposals to organize workshops and schools.

  • Proposals may be submitted independently or in collaboration with colleagues from other institutions.

Fellowship support

  • Up to INR 5 lakhs per school or workshop
  • Travel, accommodation (guest house), and hospitality for up to 5 experts
  • Accommodation (hostel) and hospitality for up to 50 participants

Program Structure

Designed for senior undergraduate students, early graduate learners, and early-career researchers, the program offers focused immersion through advanced lectures, guided problem-solving, and exploratory project work. Each school or workshop is centred on a specific theme and reflects current directions in research and scholarship.

  3. Academic strength of the plan

    Academic strength and suitability of proposed speakers, resource persons, and curricular structure.
